Skin Salve

My first experience of making this salve was to have the person I made it for come back and ask me what was in it. She called it "Coven Cream"!

Since then I have made this salve for many people who have all had great success with it especially for psoriasis.

• You should always check with your doctor before using anything new.
• The contents of this salve are all natural but if you have any known allergies avoid those ingredients.
• Do a test patch before you apply to a large area.

Ingredients

300ml Organic Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil (solid)

1 large leaf Aloe Vera (I grow these around my house)

10 drops d?TERRA Lavender essential oil

10 drops d?TERRA Tea Tree essential oil

5 drops d?TERRA Frankincense essential oil

5 drops d?TERRA Geranium essential oil

Method

Read through first and then start at No. 1.

1. Pour hot water into a saucepan or large bowl. Put a smaller bowl (I use metal) inside to create a double boiler. For years I would put this over heat but I've discovered lately there's no need once the hot water comes straight from the kettle.
2. Place 300ml coconut oil into your smaller / metal bowl and let it melt.
3. While the coconut oil is melting take the outer green skin off your aloe vera leaf. I do this on a large plate as it's a messy job!
4. When your coconut oil is melted take the bowl out of the water and leave it for 15-20 minutes to cool down.
5. When coconut oil is cool, add the aloe vera jelly.
6. Use a food mixer to whip these together.
7. When you have a nice smooth consistency add your essential oils.
8. Stir the essential oils in gently with a spoon.
9. Place mixture in a suitable jar and put in the fridge to set.

Tip - Use your coconut oil for cooking, oil-pulling and applying to dry skin too.
